Student-Alumni Lunch Program

Do you want to meet a DMS alumnus?

We will treat you out to lunch!

Have you thought about working in scientific journalism but you don’t know anybody from the publishing world to talk with about it? Are you attracted by the biotech world, but you have never even visited a start-up? Do you wonder how your life will be 10 years from now when your DMS degree will just be a line on your CV? DMS has a number of alumni that would be more than happy to answer these and many other questions.

The DMS alumni network is a rich and powerful resource of experience, knowledge, networking and information about life after Harvard. In an effort to bring DMS students and DMS alumni closer, BGSO has launched a pilot initiative: the Student-Alumni Lunch Program.

We have a searchable PDF with contact information for DMS alumni from the Boston area who have explicitly expressed interest in mentoring and meeting current DMS students. These alumni are currently engaged in a variety of activities, from patent law to biotech to academic research. If you are interested in meeting one of these alumni over lunch, invite him/her to one of the on-campus restaurants: we will reimburse your lunch expenses up to $15 per person!

In order to make a connection with an Alumnus, please send an email and put in CC Carrie Gibbons from the BGSO Alumni relationship committee (Carrie_Gibbons@hms.harvard.edu) and Elisabeth Taylor (Elisabeth_taylor@hms.harvard.edu) from the DMS office.

Groups of multiple students going for lunch with the same alumnus are allowed. Pre-approval from BGSO is required for groups of more than 5 students.
